Verona’s history dates to Roman times when it was an important Roman settlement. From 1405 AD Verona fell under the rule of the Republic of Venice, when the city lost its independence but gained almost four hundred years of peace and prosperity, thus becoming a significant medieval centre.
Best explored on foot, Verona’s network of small streets and alleys provide enticing walks. The centre of Verona is traffic-free and best explored on foot. There will be free to time to explore the city independently, and there will be a guided walking tour of Verona’s highlights.

This depends on where you are being picked up from and at what time you are due to return from the excursion, as well as at what time does dinner service end at the hotel/restaurant/etc.
